Alvin Lowell Orgill - 93 Obituary
He was born April 4, 1916 to Alvin and Retta Davis Orgill at the family home in Egin. He was the oldest of seven children.
He attended school in Egin, through the eight grade and high school at Edmonds for two years.
He began to work on the family farm at an early age. He was a good farmer and one year produced the best yield of number one potatoes in Fremont County. He also dry farmed with his father and brothers.
He loved music and played the saxophone and drums and was a member of a local orchestra.
He married Nona Mae Burbank on February 17, 1948 at Blackfoot, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on February 17, 1961.
He sorted potatoes for B.M. Tibbets and later worked at the Idaho Industrial School from where he retired.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He served in many church including Sunday School, Elders Quorum, High Priest Group and a long time home teacher. He passed away at the family home where he was born.
He is survived by his loving wife Nona, his three daughters Catherine (Wayne) Swensen of Egin, Idaho, Gwen Gowin of Van Alstyne, Texas, Cindy (Roy) Richards of Idaho Falls, Idaho, twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, at 11:00 a.m. at the Egin LDS Chapel with Bishop Brandon Moon officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, June 26, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the church and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of the Bert Flamm Mortuary of St. Anthony.
